What’s Up With the Missing Menu Commands?

One of the first differences I noticed in InDesign CS4 was that some commands were missing in certain menus, and at the bottom of these menus, there was a Show All Menu Items command. After selecting this command all of the missing menu items returned instantly. But upon returning to the menu, the commands had gone missing again. “What’s up with this?” I asked myself after turning on the same menu commands several times. It seems that various missing menu items were intentionally turned off (Edit>Menus) as part of every default Workspace except for Advanced. To turn on the missing menu commands on a more permanent basis, look under the Window menu>Workspace and choose Show All Menu Items. Then go to the Window menu>Workspace>New Workspace to save your own custom Workspace with full menus listings included.
